LG LH576D Review
Type : LED     Resolution : 768p     Refresh Rate : 50 Hz
The LG LH576D is a budget 768p Smart TV. The Smart features are user friendly and easy to use. It has lots of apps but low internal memory of just 4 MB. Unfortunately, the TV has bad peak brightness and disappointing picture quality like the LJ523D. The TV also lacks the advanced features available in expensive models to improve the picture quality.
Design
Picture Quality
The picture quality of LH576D is below average. Dark corners are a common issue with all the LG low end models and this TV is no exception. Dark room performance is not good due to poor screen uniformity and low contrast ratio. The TV does not perform well in bright room either and the measured peak brightness is one of the lowest. Small highlights in the picture do not get very bright due to absence of the local dimming feature. The TV has insufficient colours due to which the picture looks fade and washed out. However, the viewing angles are excellent due to the IPS panel. Motion performance is also good and there is little motion blur.
Peak Brightness
Peak 2% Window : 194.8 cd/m2
Peak 100% Window : 195.0 cd/m2
The peak brightness is very low to avoid reflections during the daytime. Also there is no local dimming feature, thus the brightness on the screen remains same irrespective of the content.
Panel Uniformity
Max Colour Dev. (50% pattern) : 2.7
Avg Luminance Dev. (5% pattern) : 18.50%
The colour uniformity is not good. Edges are dark specially the corners. This is clearly visible while watching the TV and looks annoying.
The luminance on the screen is also not even and there is a lot of deviation. There is flash lighting on the left corners and minor clouding on the remaining portion of the TV screen.
Gamut Coverage
sRGB gamut coverage : 91.79%
Adobe RGB gamut coverage : 68.98%
The another major drawback of the TV is the low colour gamut coverage. The available colours are insufficient for HD content due to which the picture looks washed out. The extended colour gamut feature is not good. It adds unnecessary colours and the picture looks artificial.
Post Calibration
White Balance dE : 0.29
Color dE : 2.35
Gamma : 2.28
The TV has plenty of options to adjust the picture quality. The white balance is adjusted using 2 point and 20 point system. The TV has Colour Management System to balance the colours but blue colour is very saturated and because of this some colour error is still there.

Conclusion
The LH576D is an inexpensive Smart TV by LG. It is a fully feature packed TV. Sound Quality is also decent but unfortunately the picture quality is not up to the mark. It is similar to the other basic non smart models. For watching movies, this is not a good TV. If you need better picture quality in this price range then Sony R302E is a good option but Smart features are not available.
