The Sony W672E is a Smart TV with 1080p resolution. The picture quality is good but the TV lacks high end features found in expensive models. The picture looks good even when viewed at an angle. The TV is very good at handling motion and has very little motion blur. The downside however is poor contrast ratio. The TV has amazing sound quality.

The TV has a basic design which looks good and is similar to last year models. There is an illumination LED at the bottom.
Stand
The stand is made of good quality plastic and has a matte finish. The stand has a narrow footprint and holds the TV well.

The borders are simple and have a matte finish which looks good. The borders have an average width.
Back
The back of the TV looks bulky with a reflective plastic finish. The input ports at the back will be hard to reach if the TV is wall mounted. Though ports at the side and buttons at the bottom will be easily accessible.
Thickness

The TV has an average thickness mainly because of the bottom part which is very thick. If wall mounted, the TV comes out and looks little odd.
Build Quality
The build quality is very good. Everything is neatly made with a good quality plastic.
Picture Quality
The W672E has slightly above average picture quality. The panel has poor native contrast ratio and the blacks are not deep. There is no local dimming feature for a good dark room performance and the peak brightness is also very low. The viewing angle is good and the TV displays a good range of colors resulting in good pictures. The TV is very good when it comes to motion performance.

The TV has an IPS panel and due to this the contrast ratio is very low. Blacks appear grayish when seen in a dark room.

The peak brightness is average. Since the TV lacks the local dimming feature, peak brightness is same for all the different sized windows. This is not enough to avoid the strong reflections in a bright sunny room.

The viewing angle is good. When the TV is viewed from the side, picture looks very good with a slight loss in colors. The TV is very good for those having a wide sitting in a room.

The color uniformity is very good with a minor error which is not visible during normal viewing. Luminance uniformity is also very good and the screen has a uniform brightness.
In the test picture, clouding is visible on the TV screen, but this is not visible during normal viewing.

The TV has a Full HD or 1080p resolution. The picture looks good, sharp and crisp.
Reflections - Bright Room
The TV has a semi-gloss screen and is average while dealing with reflections. This can cause issues in a very bright room but for an average room this is good and will not be a problem.
Local Dimming

The TV does not have local dimming feature. As seen in the test picture, entire backlight remains ON even when a single pixel line is displayed on the edges and the middle.

The TV supports a good range of colors and this is enough to cover the Rec.709 color used by high definition content.

Prior to calibration, results are not good. White balance is OFF at all the levels. This is mainly because of the cool color temperature.

The results became good just with a warmer color temperature. There are few controls to adjust the picture, hence only basic adjustments are made to improve the picture.

The Sony W672E is a basic Smart TV. The TV has the Sony (native) Smart platform. Other smart features include WiFi Direct, Inbuilt WiFi, Screen Mirroring and an Ethernet port.
The Smart user interface is clean and easy to use but the TV takes a lot of time while connecting a mobile device using screen mirroring or WiFi Direct.
